How We Can Make a Difference
Kits Beyond Sound is a youth musician-led initiative dedicated to supporting children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Our team, made up of young musicians, is passionate about making sound and sensory learning more accessible for every child.
DONATIONS
We place handmade KBS donation boxes in local schools, centers, synagogues, and community spaces to collect books, toys, and sensory-friendly items for children in need.
AWARENESS
There is a major lack of understanding about what Deaf and Hard of Hearing children experience every day. We work to change that through youth-led education and posts that make these challenges visible and understood.
COMMUNITY
We also fundraise through bake sales and community events to purchase sensory toys and tools. All of items/donations go directly to special education programs, elementary schools, and Deaf and Hard of Hearing organizations.

Our KBS received $400 award from the Contribution Project hosted by the Cornell University Research Team (https://contributionproject.org/).
KBS is selected for a research study giving young people funds to enact a community-focused idea, boosting their well-being, purpose, and sense of belonging, with projects ranging from campus improvements to global aid, all designed to explore how making a difference impacts personal growth.
